Ruby Slipperjack, a member of the Eabametoong First Nation in Northwestern Ontario, was born and raised on her father's trapline at Whitewater Lake, Ontario. She is a professor at Lakehead University, where she occupies the chair of the Department of Indigenous Learning. Ruby's novels include Honour the Sun, Silent Words, and Little Voice. Weesquachak is her first book with Theytus.
