INTERNSHIP - Technological and Social Media Marketing Trainee Position

Theytus Books is looking for a career minded individual who wants to join our team. The internship is a paid 6-7-month position, if successful in assisting to increase the sales of Theytus Books, and should budget allow, this position will become a full time permanent position leading into career advancement with Theytus Books. This is a training and apprenticeship position in which the intern will be taking professional development courses fully paid by Theytus.

 

The major role of this position is to train a person to be responsible for the following areas:

  • Database – data entry
  • Website - maintenance and enhancement of files, images, and text on our ecommerce website.
  • Social Media – developing creative content for Theytus social media platforms and maintaining them (i.e. Facebook, My Space, Twitter, You Tube etc.)
  • Liaison - key contact with the Association of Canadian Publishers new E-book Digital Services project with Theytus Books. Key contact with Webmaster/Technician for all website improvements.
  • Stats – weekly monitoring of website performance, reporting and analyzing of website stats.
  • Procedures Guide – developing a handbook for the database entry and website

Other duties:

  • Assist with the Graphic Design/Production Department as directed by Senior Management
  • Other duties as assigned by the Publisher and En’owkin Centre’s Senior Management
  • Assist in other related activities which promote and advocate for Theytus Books and the En’owkin Centre and its programs

 

What do you need to apply?

  • You must be either registered in or a recent graduate of a post-secondary educational program in field relevant to the technology or new media; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be Canadian
  • Must be Aboriginal
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) and the Internet
  • A strong desire to enter the publishing industry
  • Fabulous writing skills
